Battle royale versions with up to 100 players are also available in the game. A four-person squad, a two-person team, or a solo player are all viable options. Everyone in a game chooses an ability at the beginning of the game, ranging from healing to building a launch pad. They board a plane and fly over the map in a straight line when all 100 people are ready. Every game is unique due to the fact that this flight route is always shifting. Everyone on the team is assigned a jump leader, who makes the final call on where and when the squad will land. Each player begins the game with only a knife. In order to increase their chances of winning and surviving, players can find weapons, vehicles, and other stuff on the map. Treasure zones indicated in yellow on the map indicate high-tier loot zones, where players can find the best stuff. As the game proceeds, the safe zone on the map diminishes, and players who remain outside the safe zone for too long are killed. If an individual or team is the last one standing, they win the game. Additionally, there are several limited-time modes within battle royale, such as Sniper Challenges, Battle Royale Alcatrazs, Battle Royale Blackouts, 20v20 Warfares, and Battle Royale Blitz.
In November 2019, a Zombies mode was added. The game pitted players in groups against waves of zombies. In Endless Survival Mode, it behaved like a conventional zombies game, but in Raid Mode it flung waves of enemies at the players before shifting to a boss confrontation. Both modes could be played simultaneously. The game’s difficulty could be set to either Normal or Heroic by the participants. In March of 2020, the mode was withdrawn since it had fallen short of expectations in terms of quality. In August 2021, a zombie survival mode called Undead Siege was added to the game. It features a squad of four players battling hordes of undead to keep their teleportation technology safe. Zombies will attack at night, thus players need to stock up on resources throughout the day so they can battle them during the night. Daytime Side Missions, which include the Butcher and the Aether Crystal Cluster, are also available to players throughout the day.

In order to accommodate the player’s preferences, a variety of control options were made available. In November 2019, a “zombies” mode was added to the game. A typical Call of Duty zombies “survival” paradigm was used in this mode, where the player tries to outlast as many waves of zombies as possible. After a predetermined number of waves of zombies had been defeated, one of two bosses could be encountered at the end of the “Raid” mode. On March 25, 2020, the Call of Duty: Mobile Zombies mode was removed from the game since it failed to meet Activision’s requirements.
